Social responsibility is one of the cornerstones of a sustainable business. At KUZUKA, some of our proudest achievements are our volunteer efforts within the community and the partnerships we have developed with world-class organizations like the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.

Jane Goodall Institute partnership

KUZUKA is a proud partner of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, a leader in wildlife conservation, education, and awareness. The Institute's Roots & Shoots program empowers youth to take action on conservation and humanitarian projects around the globe. KUZUKA donates 1% of our annual revenue to JGIC to support their conservation and education initiatives.

Green Event Sponsorships

The footprint of conferences and events can be lessened by making donations to environmental and humanitarian projects. KUZUKA has made donations to a number of excellent locally-developed projects on behalf of organizations like Sustainable Waterloo, the Huron Tourism Association, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.

KUZUKA’s green event sponsorships have supported local tree planting programs through Trees Ontario and the funding of drinking water filters in Southern Sudan, reducing both water-borne diseases and deforestation in that impoverished area.

Source Water Protection

KUZUKA’s owner Steve Boles volunteers as a community working group representative in the local Source Water Protection program. The Source Water Protection program was formed to protect drinking water resources from contamination or overuse.

Environmental Efforts with Local Schools

Steve sits on the Environmental Committee of the Avon Maitland District School Board. KUZUKA has donated time to prepare a Carbon Footprint Calculation Tool for Schools that can be used to raise awareness of greenhouse gases and energy conservation within the student body.

In addition to volunteer efforts at the Board level, Steve serves as a parent volunteer on the Eco-Team at his children’s school. Their school has achieved the top-level Gold Certification in Ontario’s Eco-Schools program.

South Huron Chamber of Commerce

KUZUKA is a member of the South Huron Chamber of Commerce (SHCC), an organization dedicated to the economic health and welfare of the businesses and community in South Huron, Ontario. KUZUKA’s president Stephen Boles is a Director on the SHCC’s Board and volunteers as the organization’s Treasurer.
